If you think there’s a profound message within the Mutants’ struggle in the X-Men movies, you’re not wrong. Their struggle was meant to represent the difficulties minorities experience in real life – and in particular, the LGBT community.
This matter is close to director Bryan Singer’s heart, who is part of the community. The mutants’ powers usually come into play when they’re teenagers, and there are scenes in which mutants “come out” to their parents about being mutants.
