[post_page_title]Robocop got super biblical[/post_page_title]
Watching Robocop doesn’t exactly make one think of the bible. It is a story about a half-man, half-machine, so it’s more futuristic than biblical. However, the plot is pretty similar, when you think about it. Alex Murphy, a hero in a corrupt city, gets killed. Then he’s resurrected, and re-emerges as savior.
Who does that sound like to you? Director Paul Verhoeven actually confirmed that the movie was his notion of an American Jesus, but it wasn’t meant to be very obvious. Maybe he should’ve skipped the scene where Murphy walks on water, then?
