[post_page_title]The Wizard of Oz was a case for atheism?[/post_page_title]
Like many movies, people saw The Wizard of Oz in a religious context – Dorothy and her friends go on the path to seek enlightenment from a Godlike figure – the Wizard.
As the film’s message was that power comes from within, and not from any Wizard or God, some groups in Tennessee actually tried to get the book banned based on its “anti-religious” message. Others, however, claimed that when playing the movie in sync with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, they saw God.
