[post_page_title]Die Hard had a soft spot for fatherhood[/post_page_title]
Everyone who’s seen Die Hard will tell you that John McClane is one tough SOB, but the truth is, he also has a gentle side to him. Like in the novel it’s based on (called Nothing Lasts Forever), McClane flies to L.A. to spend Christmas with his family, and brings a huge stuffed bear with a red ribbon on it for his daughter.
Apparently, director John McTiernan used teddy bears to symbolize fatherly love more than just once – he later did it again in The Hunt For Red October. And people say Die Hard isn’t a Christmas movie!
