Hidden Messages in Popular Movies We’ve Never Noticed

[post_page_title]Mulholland Drive had characters hiding in plain sight[/post_page_title]

David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive is a highly acclaimed movie, and therefor has been analyzed to death. Every time people take a deeper look into it, it raises even more questions and theories. One way in which Lynch messed with viewers’ minds was hiding characters in plain sight.

Mulholland Drive

During one scene, Betty and Rita enter a theater and we can see (if we notice them) Ronette Pulaski and Laura Palmer, of the Twin Peaks movie, sitting there side by side. The question of who is alive and who isn’t at that time is one of the bigger questions of the movie. It’s also significant that Ronette survived the brutal attack that Laura didn’t, and emerged as a traumatized amnesiac, just like Rita did.
