[post_page_title]Avatar was criticizing one particular country[/post_page_title]
Avatar was a huge hit from the moment it was released in theaters, and it seems that James Cameron really took advantage of it to send some political messages about humanity’s conduct. Through the story of the attempt to take over Pandora and use its resources while trampling over the Na’vi, one doesn’t need to try hard to get the criticism.
Cameron had one particular country in mind to criticize, too, and it’s very visible in one scene. When the villain, Col. Quaritch, explains the risks of the mission to his recruits, the backdrop clearly looks like the American flag.
