The Departed is one of Scorsese’s best films and a favorite to many – perhaps because it’s not lacking in any action. In fact, so many characters drop like flies, you begin to wonder who will be next. One of the best things about this film is, you can actually know who’s next.
By placing X’s throughout the film, Scorsese gave us a big hint on who’s next. Unfortunately, most people don’t notice the X’s until they read about the film online.
