Let us give you a bit of advice real quick: be wary of everyone on the Internet. Yes, we mean everyone. Even your mom on Facebook. She very well could have been hacked, and her request for $1000 on Venmo might seem suspicious because it actually is. People on the Internet are able to hide behind a screen and a layer of digital anonymity, allowing them to perform nefarious deeds.
If only we had been able to tell this to these people who fell for this little social security trick. Here’s hoping that this is just ironic.
