When a character has a name like Pink Panther, you shouldn’t need to question what kind of animal they are. The clue is literally in the name. However, it seems that this person missed that detail and thought they were a lion.
Even when someone cleared up their confusion, they still seemed adamant that lions were somehow involved. They also assumed that the animal would be pink, which means they must have thought that real-life lions were also pink. Evidently, this person has never been on a safari before.
