Technology has come a long way over the years. With each development, we understand more about both the world around us and our own bodies. Obviously, things like x-ray machines make it easier to diagnose and treat existing health problems.
However, just because people didn’t have things like this back in the Middle Ages, that doesn’t mean they were completely oblivious. At the very least, they knew what skeletons looked like because they weren’t short of people passing away. The average life expectancy back then was only around 31.
