With a surprising number of animals becoming endangered, adoptions are an excellent way to help keep them safe. You essentially pay money to provide them with the help they need, and in return, you get regular information about how they’re doing.
You don’t, as this person’s girlfriend apparently thought, actually receive the animal as a pet. Not only would taking them out of their natural habitat endanger them, but some of the creatures you can adopt definitely aren’t safe to have around the house.
