This poll makes it very clear precisely what these voters think about having Arabic numerals in the American education system. The thing that these 7,300 or so people didn’t realize is that they’re already part of the curriculum.
Arabic numerals are the numbers we know as zero to nine. English-speaking schools use them in mathematics all the time; people just don’t know that this is the name for them. Evidently, the voters were quick to judge something before really giving it any thought.
